WLAX Continues Conference Play vs. Piedmont on Saturday

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College women's lacrosse team (0-1, 0-1 USAS) continues conference competition on Saturday when the Tornados play host to Piedmont College (2-5, 1-0 USAS) at Ives-Lemel Family Field, with first draw set for 1 p.m.

In BC's season-opener on Wednesday, March 10, sophomore Autumn Kraemer led the Tornados with three goals, to go along with two goals by Savannah Colliver.  Junior midfielder KC Collins recorded two assists, while sophomore goalkeeper Carlie Henning registered 14 saves, playing the entire 60 minutes in front of the goal for BC vs. Pfeiffer.

The Lions have played in seven contests so far in 2021, with Emma Frasen leading the attack, accounting for 24 goals and 12 assists for 36 points. Aislynn Kimbro and Macey Higgins also have double-digit goal outputs, with 19 and 10 goals apiece.

The Presidents of the USA South Athletic Conference have agreed to adjust the Conference's policy on spectators attending any outdoor sporting event hosted by a USA South institution regardless of opponent.

The amended policy limits spectators to two per participating student-athlete, plus students, faculty and staff of the host institution while abiding with all local and state social distancing and capacity directives. No spectators of visiting teams will be permitted to attend. This adjusted policy went into effect for all events beginning on Friday, February 26th.

Following Saturday's contest, the Tornados are slated to rematch with Pfeiffer on Wednesday, March 24 at 6 p.m. in Misenheimer, North Carolina.
