In an abundance of caution due to the COVID-19 pandemic, spectators will not be permitted to attend USA South Conference men's and women's basketball contests this season. Members of participating teams, game officials, and other essential personnel relevant to event operations will be the only individuals permitted into the venue for 2020-21 USA South basketball games. The policy is in accordance with the USA South Conference's policy announced on January 7, 2021.

Brevard will take the court for the first time on Friday since Saturday, February 15, 2020 - 356 days in total - in which was a 56-52 victory over Pfeiffer University on Senior Day at the Boshamer Gymnasium. Head Coach Donald Hudson returns seven players from the 2019-20 season, including five seniors (Victoria Green, Bailey Ray, Deja Riddick, Shakirah Thompson, and Destiny Williams), alongside eight newcomers looking to make their Brevard College debut this weekend.

Covenant comes into play on Friday on a six-game losing slide against the top-three teams in the USA South West Division by record. The Scots have been led by Destiny Mergilles and Mary Elaine Mitchell, who have averaged 11.2 and 10.2 points-per-game, respectively. Mergilles averages a team-best 7.4 rebounds-per-game to pace the Scots on the boards. Covenant has played 14 contests through December and January.

The Tornados are next scheduled to return to the Boshamer Gymnasium for the first time this season on Tuesday, February 9 with Brevard welcoming Agnes Scott at 6 p.m.
