Tornados Drop Pair at Huntingdon

MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Brevard College volleyball team (1-2, 1-1 USAS) dropped a pair of matches late Saturday afternoon to host Huntingdon. 

 
Brevard dropped the first match 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-9) followed by a 3-0 (25-17, 26-24, 25-12) defeat in match number two.  Only the first match counted toward USA South Conference records for the two teams.
 
Freshman setter Kaitlyn Pressley led the Tornados with seven assists, three kills, four digs and two service aces in the first match. Pressley followed that performance with 16 assists, seven digs and an ace in the second contest.
 
Senior Raley Shirey registered a team-high six kills in the first competition, while junior Brook Groves and freshman Makenna Parkins each had five kills to lead the Tornado attack in match two.
 
BC played HC the tightest in set number two of the second match as the Tornados forced an extra point before a 26-24 set defeat to the Hawks.
 
Brevard returns home for its next match on Wednesday with a doubleheader vs. Piedmont beginning at 5 pm ET at the Boshamer Gymnasium on the campus of Brevard College.
