Tornados Score Program-Record 27 Goals in Rout of Pacers

CARY, N.C. - The Brevard College women's lacrosse team (11-2, 5-1 USA South) set a new program record with a 27-goal outburst as Brevard cruised to a 27-4 triumph over Conference foe William Peace University (1-9, 0-6 USAS) on Saturday afternoon at the WakeMed Sportsplex in Cary, North Carolina.

The victory extended Brevard's program-best win streak to seven games.

Freshman attacker/midfielder Xan Hill surged for a career-high five goals and seven assists for 12 points, matching the program single-game record for points set earlier this season by teammate Autumn Kraemer. Hill was one of five Tornados to score multiple goals in the blowout victory.

Sophomore midfielder Emily Denaga scored seven goals and added two assists while matching her own single-game program high mark set in the season-opener vs. Randolph with 15 draw controls won.

Senior attacker Parker Moore scored seven times with an assist for eight points to set the single-season program record for points scored (85), passing Nina Siu's 78-point mark in 2017.

Paige Kneubuhler and Autumn Kraemer each logged three goals and five assists for eight points each, while Grace Blanton and Nicole Volk also got on the scoresheet. Lex MacLauchlin earned her 11th win of the season in goal, making a save while the Tornado defense held the Pacers to just four goals.

The Tornados outshot WPU 38-8 and won the ground ball battle, 38-8. BC forced the Pacers to commit 15 turnovers and Brevard won 27 of the game's 33 draw controls overall. BC was also able to convert 3-of-5 free position attempts.

Brevard will seek to continue its winning ways as the Tornados play host to Piedmont University on Wednesday, April 19 at 5 p.m. at Ives-Lemel Family Field. Senior day is scheduled for Saturday, April 22 at 3 p.m. as BC WLAX will honor its seven-member senior class.
