BC Falls in Weekday USA South Road Matchup

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Brevard College women's lacrosse team (0-3, 0-3 USAS) fell 16-6 in a USA South Conference matchup to host Pfeiffer University (3-1, 3-0 USAS) on Wednesday evening in Misenheimer, North Carolina.

Brevard's leading goal scorer Autumn Kraemer, a sophomore from Stewartstown, Pennsylvania, scored a team-best four goals on six shots taken.  Sophomore midfielder Parker Moore recorded a goal and an assist, while junior midfielder KC Collins added a goal and sophomore Savannah Colliver delivered an assist.

Sophomore goalkeeper Carlie Henning registered 15 saves to protect the net for the Tornados.

Pfeiffer led 7-2 in the opening half and maintained its lead throughout the second half en route to the 10-goal win.

The Falcons ran out to three-straight goals to take an early lead.  With 16:55 remaining, Kraemer capitalized on an assist by Moore to put BC on the board.  Eight minutes later. Kraemer then found the back of the net to cut Pfeiffer's lead to 3-2.  The Falcons answered with a flurry of four straight goals capped off by a score with just 13 seconds before intermission to take a five-goal advantage into the break.

Trailing 8-2 after three minutes elapsed in the second half, Moore was on the receiving end of an assist by Colliver. Moore's goal brought the deficit back to five goals before Pfeiffer extended its lead again with a goal 90 seconds later.

Kraemer capitalized on a free position shot to cut the margin back to five goals with 23:46 to play. Pfeiffer, however, outscored BC 7-2 over the final 22 minutes of the contest, with Collins and Kraemer each scoring unassisted goals down the stretch. 

Pfeiffer outshot Brevard 46-11 in the contest, with 23 ground balls and 15 won draw controls.  The Falcons made 3-of-8 free-position shots, while the Tornados attempted just two free positions, scoring on one.

Next up for the Tornados is a home conference match-up vs. Huntingdon on Friday. April 2 at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
