Nado Newcomer Spotlight: Women’s Lacrosse Welcomes Three to 2020-21 Squad

BREVARD, N.C. – Throughout the Fall of 2020, the Brevard College Department of Athletics will be highlighting the new faces in the BC Tornado family, welcoming the freshman and newcomer student-athletes who will be joining Tornado teams during the 2020-21 athletic seasons.

Next up in this series is the BC Women's Lacrosse team, under the direction of Head Coach Kristin Rosato and Assistant Coach Diana Loaiza. The Tornados will welcome a total of three student-athletes to their team this upcoming season.

"This is a small class, but one that will bring depth to a strong returning class," said Kristin Rosato, Brevard College Head Women's Lacrosse Coach.  "Skyler and Meredith will help anchor our defense, while Parker will be a force on attack. We are looking forward to getting back on the field."

 

Skyler Belbin- Defender/Goalkeeper- Freshman- Pinnacle, N.C.- Stokes Early College

The Pinnacle, North Carolina native was involved with the Student Government Association and the Pride Club at Stokes Early College. She will be a History major with teaching credential at Brevard College.

 

 

Meredith Brown- Defender- Freshman- Columbia, S.C.- A.C. Flora High School

The Columbia, South Carolina native earned several off-the-field honors at A. C. Flora High School, including being part of the National Honor Society, earning a spot on the Principal's Honor Roll, a Richland One Academic All-Star selection, earned the Falcon Award for Citizenship, was a High School Scholar, and an International Baccalaureate Graduate. She was involved with the Spanish Club and Camp Joy Counselor. Brown will be an Art and Psychology double major at Brevard College.

 

Parker Moore- Midfield- Sophomore- Raleigh, N.C.- Millbrook High School

The Raleigh, North Carolina native was an Academic All-Conference selection all four years as Millbrook High School. She was a three year varsity letter-winner and helped Millbrook to its first playoff win in school history. Moore earned All-Conference Honorable Mention, All-Conference First-Team, claimed the Frank Lavelle Most Dependable Award, and the Annalisa Kristoffersen Senior Award. Off the field, Moore was a part of the National Honors Society, was a Governor School nominee, a Top-10 Rotary Club finalist, earned a Certificate of leadership, won a DECS District Medal in Sport Marketing, earned four Character Education awards, and was named an Outstanding CTE student. She previously attended William Peace University in 2019-20 and will be a Business and Organizational Leadership major at Brevard College.
