Spring Senior Profile: Cameron Ranslow #ThankYouSeniors

Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday starting April 1 throughout the Spring of 2020, bctornados.com will be featuring senior student-athletes from Spring sports to honor their dedication and commitment to Brevard College Athletics through their Tornado careers.

BREVARD, N.C. – Senior attacker Cameron Ranslow, a member of the Brevard College Women's Lacrosse team for two seasons, is the next honoree in BC Athletics' Spring Senior Profile series, highlighting and honoring 2020 seniors in Spring sports who had their respective seasons cut short due to the impact of COVID-19.

Ranslow, a native of Greenville, South Carolina, will graduate from Brevard with a Bachelor's degree in English with an emphasis in Literary Studies and Teacher Licensure. Following graduation, Ranslow plans to teach high school English in her hometown of Greenville for at least a year before pursuing graduate-level education.

The senior attacker appeared in 15 career games and made 10 total starts over her two playing seasons for the Tornados. In BC's lone victory at home against Johnson & Wales University – Denver, Ranslow scooped up her first-career ground ball.

Ranslow was heavily involved on the Brevard College campus through her academic career at the college. The senior served as a Student Ambassador for the Office of Admissions, a Peer Leader for the freshman class of 2019-2020, and a Learning Consultant for the Brevard College Writing Center while also being a member of the Institute for Women in Leadership, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society, and Alpha Chi National College Honor Society. Moreover, Ranslow participated in a Teaching Assistantships in Spring 2018 and Fall of 2019. The Greenville native maintained a perfect 4.0 GPA at Brevard College while making the Dean's List each semester.

"My favorite memory at Brevard College was during Spring of 2019 when I was with two of my teammates and we were going to Hendersonville for Cookout," said Ranslow. "It was one of my first few times hanging out with them as friends. We were riding in the car, listening to good music, talking and laughing until tears were running down our faces. I gained two of my best friends that day and I don't think I'll ever forget that moment of pure happiness."
