RALEIGH, N.C. - Freshman attacker Autumn Kraemer continued the fast start to her collegiate career with a goal, while Micaiah Vacchiano and KC Collins also scored, but the Brevard College women's lacrosse team (1-4, 0-2 USAS) couldn't keep pace in a 20-3 conference defeat at the hands of five-time USA South Women's Lacrosse Tournament champion Meredith College (2-4, 2-0 USAS) on Sunday in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Goalkeeper Carlie Henning (1-4) recorded eight total saves in the contest. Allyson Brigham and Hannah Scharf logged assists in the Tornados' offense.

The host Avenging Angels scored the contest's first goal before Kraemer answered immediately back with a free-position score of her own to knot the score at 1-1. Meredith went on to score the 17-straight goals to close out the first half, taking an 18-1 lead into the halftime break.

The Tornado defense held Meredith to just three goals in the second half of play. Meredith scored the first goal of the period, but Vacchiano was able to answer right back with a strike of her own. With less than two minutes remaining in the matchup, Collins scored a power-play goal.

Brevard will practice and prepare over spring break before traveling to Roanoke, Virginia for a non-conference contest against Hollins University on Saturday, March 14 at 1 p.m.
