GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Brevard College women's basketball team (6-13) will look to continue its winning ways when the Tornados travel down to Greenville, South Carolina to face off against the Bob Jones University Bruins (10-9) for the second time this season.

The Tornados took a 64-57 decision back on Tuesday, November 19, 2019, against the Bruins at the Boshamer Gymnasium in the early portion of the 2019-20 schedule. Junior guard Shakirah Thompson led the way with a career night, scoring 19 points with five 3-pointers in the victory.

Three BC players were able to reach double-figure scoring totals, as Thompson was joined by Deja Riddick (13 points) and Taryn Ledford (10 points). Sophomore forward Breana Ware led all players with a game-high 10 rebounds, which also set the Greensboro, North Carolina native's new career-best total.

Sophomore center Avery Lockwood added eight points and eight boards off the bench, while fellow center – senior Krysta Davis – also grabbed eight rebounds.

All-time, the Tornados boast a 4-1 record against the Bruins of Bob Jones since the two school's first meeting in 2016.

Brevard is coming off a big USA South Conference road victory, as the Tornados defeated LaGrange College by a final of 65-54.

The victory avenged an early-season setback to the Panthers on November 29, 2019, at the Boshamer Gymnasium.

Juniors Taryn Ledford and Destiny Williams each led the Tornado offense with 13 points apiece. Ledford came off the bench to make 5-of-10 shots from the field including three made 3-pointers. Williams stuffed the stat sheet with a near double-double effort of 13 points and nine rebounds while dishing out three assists and recording two steals.

Junior point guard Ty'She Washington added 11 points on 4-of-8 shooting, while Deja Riddick scored 10 points, grabbed seven boards, and dished out four assists while going a perfect 4-of-4 from the free-throw line. Senior center Krysta Davis added eight rebounds to Brevard's total of 35 for the game.

Following Tuesday's road trip down to Greenville, the Tornados will wrap up their four-game road swing with a pair of weekend matchups in the state of Georgia. Brevard first meets Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia on Friday, February 7 at 6 p.m. before heading up to Lookout Mountain, Georgia on Saturday, February 8 to face Covenant College at 2 p.m.
