MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Brevard College men's tennis team (1-2) dropped a non-conference team competition 6-3 to host Huntingdon (5-4) on Sunday in Montgomery, Alabama.

Sophomore Ethan McGee continued his undefeated start to the 2021 season with his third consecutive victory for the Tornados at the number one singles position.  McGee won in the closest match of his season thus far, defeating HC's Clint Robinson in straight sets, 7-6 and 6-2.  The reigning USA South Conference Player of the Week, McGee had outscored his opponents 24-1 entering Sunday. The Salisbury, North Carolina native improved to a perfect 6-0 in sets in 2021.

McGee teamed up with Andrew Ingram in number one doubles, however, the Tornado duo was defeated by HC's Robinson and Carson Sands 8-2.  Miles Schafer and Devin Horton combined to play number two doubles once again for BC, yet fell 8-5 in a tight match to John David Bailey and Cameron Reed.

Brevard's number three doubles team of Alex Glaze and Hunter Williams won via default to give the Tornados one point after doubles play.

Williams secured a win in number six singles due to a default to give BC its only other victory in singles outside of McGee's win on Sunday.

The Tornados will return to action on Friday, March 19 at 3 p.m. vs. Piedmont at the McCoy Tennis Complex on the campus of Brevard College.

Live video stream, alongside live score updates, will be provided free-of-charge on the Brevard College Tornados Athletics YouTube channel.

The Presidents of the USA South Athletic Conference have agreed to adjust the Conference's policy on spectators attending any outdoor sporting event hosted by a USA South institution regardless of opponent.

The amended policy limits spectators to two per participating student-athlete, plus students, faculty and staff of the host institution while abiding with all local and state social distancing and capacity directives. No spectators of visiting teams will be permitted to attend. This adjusted policy went into effect for all events beginning on Friday, February 26th.
