BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College men's tennis team (1-0, 1-0 USAS) heads to Montgomery, Alabama for its first road trip this season against Huntingdon College (2-4, 1-0 USAS) this Saturday and Sunday. The Tornados are scheduled for a conference dual match on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET/2:30 p.m. CT, with a non-conference matchup set for Sunday at 11 a.m. ET/10 a.m. CT.

The Tornados come off a USA South conference win against Berea College, where they won all three doubles matches and five of six singles matches to cruise to the team victory.

Ethan McGee and Andrew Ingram won 8-3 in number one doubles, while both blanking their opponents 6-0, 6-0 in number one and two singles.

JaMarcus Walker and Miles Schafer were sharp in number two doubles with an 8-2 win, while Hunter Williams and Alex Glaze produced an 8-1 win in number three doubles to complete the 3-0 sweep.

Schafer (no. 3 singles), Williams (no. 4) and Glaze (no. 6) all won their singles matches in straight sets.  Walker battled Berea's Mike Meachem to a thrilling third set tiebreaker, ultimately won by the Mountaineer 4-6, 6-3, 11-9.

Brevard College men's tennis freshman Ethan McGee was been honored by the USA South Conference, earning Men's Tennis Player of the Week accolades following BC's season-opening 8-1 victory over Berea College last Saturday at the McCoy Tennis Complex.

McGee, a sophomore from Salisbury, North Carolina, helped lead the Tornados to victory with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 victory in the number-one singles play. The sophomore also teamed up with junior Andrew Ingram in the top-spot in doubles action, taking an 8-3 victory to pace the Tornados.
