BC MLAX Readies for Home-Opener vs. Huntingdon

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College men's lacrosse team (0-4, 0-1 USAS) prepares for its first home contest in nearly two seasons, as the Tornados host Huntingdon College (3-4, 1-1 USAS) on Friday evening at Ives-Lemel Family Field, with action beginning at 6:30 p.m.

BC men's lacrosse last hosted a contest on April 20, 2019, also vs. Huntingdon.

The Presidents of the USA South Athletic Conference have agreed to adjust the Conference's policy on spectators attending any outdoor sporting event hosted by a USA South institution regardless of opponent.

The amended policy limits spectators to two per participating student-athlete, plus students, faculty and staff of the host institution while abiding with all local and state social distancing and capacity directives. No spectators of visiting teams will be permitted to attend. This adjusted policy went into effect for all events beginning on Friday, February 26th.

Brevard was last in action on Tuesday, March 23, as the Tornados lost a tightly-contested 15-13 matchup at Randolph College in Lynchburg, Virginia.

Senior attacker Sam Duffie paced a Tornado attack that saw four different players get on the scoresheet, as the Columbia, South Carolina native put five goals in alongside a pair of assists for seven points. Evan Francois, a junior attacker from Charlotte, netted a career-high four goals while distributing a career-best two assists for six points, while Nate Ellen enjoyed a career performance with three goals and 17-of-27 faceoffs won, with a game-high 12 ground balls.

Freshman Jack Davis put a shot into the back of the nylon with an assist, while sophomore midfielder Trystan Wallace logged the first two assists of his Tornado career. Jacob Hernandez and Nate Stone also distributed the first assists of their collegiate playing careers.

Huntingdon is most recently coming off a 22-2 defeat at the hands of Piedmont College in its last matchup.

Folllowing Friday's contest, the Tornados are scheduled to head to LaGrange, Georgia to face LaGrange College on Tuesday, April 6 at 4 p.m.
