BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College Tornados Men's Basketball team (4-5, 1-2 USAS) plays its final game of the 2018 calendar year in non-conference action against local opponent Montreat College (8-2). The Tornados travel to Montreat, N.C. on Monday, December 31 for their final contest before the New Year, which is set for a 2 p.m. tip-off. Brevard will hit the hardwood in game action for the first time in 12 days, with its last test coming in an exhibition matchup with the Runnin' Bulldogs of Gardner-Webb in Boiling Springs, N.C. on December 19.
Brevard enters Monday's contest looking to get back to the .500 mark, a mark the Tornados have reached three times in the young season before the bulk of USA South competition begins.
The Tornados' meeting with Montreat marks the final non-conference game of the season for Brevard, who jumps back into USA South Conference play on Saturday, January 5 with a weekend road trip to Fayetteville, N.C. to battle the Methodist Monarchs (5-7, 3-1) at 4 p.m. before squaring off with N.C. Wesleyan (10-1, 3-0) on Sunday, January 6 at 1 p.m.
USA South Instagram Takeover: The Brevard College Tornados Men's Basketball team will be taking over the USA South Conference's Instagram account from January 4-6. During the winter months of basketball season, 11 teams, as well as the USA South Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), will have the opportunity to share their experiences, through pictures and videos, while competing away from their respective campuses. Brevard will share its road trip to Methodist and N.C. Wesleyan with the USA South Conference's Instagram followers.
