Baseball Home Matchup vs. Pfeiffer Moved to Tuesday at 4 p.m.

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College baseball team has announced that its mid-week home contest vs. Pfeiffer University, originally scheduled for Wednesday, has been moved to this Tuesday, with first pitch scheduled for 4 p.m. at Gil Coan Field.

Live video and statistics will be provided, free-of-charge, on the Brevard College Athletics YouTube channel and bctornados.com.

The Tornados and Falcons matched up once before this season, with Brevard claiming a 9-3 midweek victory at Pfeiffer on Wednesday, March 10.

Zach Allison and JJ Wilkes each had multi-hit performances in the triumph, as seven different Tornados came around to score in the contest. Allison drove in a game-best three RBI's to go along with a run scored, while JJ Wilkes drove in a pair of RBI's on two extra-base hits. Jason Jucker tallied a pair of RBI's, while Jack Atkinson scored a game-high three runs while drawing a trio of walks.

Senior right-handed pitcher Ben Melton got the ball for the Tornados in the start, lasting five innings allowing just one earned run and striking out four batters. Bryce Bowers and Huntley Hacker each logged two innings of relief, shutting down the Falcons with four strikeouts combined.

Allison continues his impressive work at the plate for the Tornados offensively, leading all Tornado hitters with 17 base knocks and a .378 batting average with a team-best 11 runs scored and a team-high 10 RBI's with four stolen bases. Jucker ranks second on the squad with a .320 average and 16 hits, while freshman Logan Clark has a team-high four extra-base hits – all being triples. Matthew Scavotto leads all Tornado starting pitchers with a 2.86 ERA, while Melton is tied for the team lead with 16 K's.

For the Falcons, Bryan Kowalski and Blake Winebarger are pacing the Pfeiffer offense with a .389 and .353 batting average, respectively, while Jake Brown leads the team in home runs. Brown has scored a team-best 15 runs, while Austin Morton has 10 RBI's.

Nathan Ray leads all Falcon starting pitchers with a 3.12 ERA in a pair of games started, while Zach Grice has struck out a team-high 12 batters.

Following Tuesday's matchup, the Tornados are scheduled to open USA South Conference play this weekend when BC travels to Maryville, Tennessee on Friday and Saturday for a three-game conference set.
