BREVARD, N.C. – The USA South Conference cross country head coaches have released their pre-conference meet poll, selecting the Brevard College men's cross country team to finish in fifth place in the West Division. Covenant College was picked as the pre-conference meet favorite in the west with four first-place votes, followed by Piedmont College with a pair of first-place selections. Berea College received the last first-place vote, while Huntingdon College edged out the Tornados with 19 points to BC's 17. Maryville College and LaGrange College rounded out the West Division poll.
Each divisional poll only includes votes from coaches within that particular division-only. Head coaches do not vote for their own teams in the balloting.
Due to complications stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 men's cross country seasons were postponed until the spring semester. Despite the delay to the start of the season, the USA South is prepared to offer a championship experience for its student-athletes despite the NCAA's cancelation of national Division III events.
The Spring 2021 USA South Men's Cross Country Championships will consist of an East Division Championship Meet and a West Division Championship Meet. The West Division meet will take place on Friday, February 26 at Greenbrier Cross Country Course in Grady, Alabama. The East Division meet will take place on Saturday, February 27 on the campus of N.C. Wesleyan College in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

^Defending Conference Champion |
Brevard returns two runners - Gavin Morgan and Michael Fader - from last year's squad, while welcoming a total of eight new runners on the men's side. Morgan earned numerous conference accolades a season ago, winning USA South Conference Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week honors twice while earning a spot on the USA South Men's Cross Country All-Conference Second Team after a ninth-place finish in last year's Conference Championship meet. Morgan's successful sophomore campaign in 2019 was capped off with a second-place finish at the ECAC Men's Cross Country Championship in Milton, New York.
