Tornados Drop a Pair at Tri-Match in LaGrange

LAGRANGE, Ga. - The Brevard College Volleyball team dropped a pair of matches Sunday in a USA South Conference tri-match hosted by LaGrange College.

In the opening match of the day, Brevard (1-20, 1-9) lost 3-0 to host LaGrange (8-9, 5-4).  The Tornados then fell 3-0 to Maryville (13-8, 7-3).

Sydney Fox was the top attacker for the Tornados vs. LaGrange with 11 kills to go along with six digs on the defensive end.  Hannah Jenkins also registered a double-digit kill total with ten kills in the match, while Jordan Lloyd added seven kills and six digs. Setter Hannah Gordon dished out 26 assists, recorded six digs and served two aces. 

The Tornados put together a strong second set in the match vs. LaGrange.  BC came back from a 16-10 deficit in the set to take a 24-22 lead.  After three straight points by the Panthers, Lloyd came up with a big kill for the Tornados to tie the match at 25-25.  However, LaGrange won the final two points of the stanza to take the set.

In the second match of the day, Gordon registered 17 assists and five digs.  Fox totaled six kills and six digs, while libero  Mariana Rodriguez recorded eight digs.

The Tornados will play their home finale vs. Agnes Scott on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Boshamer Gymnasium.
