BC Women’s Tennis Wraps Up Regular Season; Set for First Round Home Postseason Match
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Brevard College women's tennis team (13-5, 6-3 USA South) wrapped up its 2022-23 regular season with a 7-2 defeat to host Southern Virginia (11-3, 7-1 USAS) on Saturday afternoon in Charlottesville, Virginia.
 
The Tornados will now turn their attention to the USA South Conference Tournament when Brevard hosts a First Round match on Tuesday vs. Pfeiffer University at 2:30 p.m. at the McCoy Tennis Complex. 
 
On Saturday in the regular season finale, Brevard's Hamrick Perry and Savannah Anderson took care of business in number three doubles with an impressive 8-4 win over Grace Howell and Beth Liddicoat.  
 
Number two doubles was a hotly contested match with SVU's Campbell Bueler and Nadia Molanphy ultimately defeating Brevard's Brooke Garland and Sophie Trantham 8-6.  Number one doubles went to SVU as Paula Snelson and Jillian Arnold topped Hannah Hersh and Alli Kogoy 8-2.
 
Perry delivered Brevard's lone victory in singles play with an 8-4 (7-5) win in no. 5 singles. In number one singles, Hersh and Snelson battled to a 6-3, 6-2 outcome in favor of SVU.
 
For the second straight year Brevard will host its First Round match in the USA South Conference Men's Tennis Championship Tournament at the McCoy Tennis Complex on the BC campus. The fourth-seeded Tornados will host no. 5 seed Pfeiffer.  Tuesday's first serve is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at the McCoy Tennis Complex.
