HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Brevard College women's tennis team (7-2) rolled through its four matches at the PTR Spring Tennis Fest from Monday, March 6 to Saturday, March 11 in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.

BC dominated Catholic University 8-1 before a pair of 7-2 victories over NCAA DII's Clarion University and DIII Penn State-Behrend. The Tornados were slated to compete against Lancaster Bible College on Friday, March 10, but the contest was canceled due to inclement weather. BREVARD 8, CATHOLIC 1

Brevard utilized the exact same lineup for all four of its matches, as Hannah Hersh and Alli Kogoy manned the top-flight on doubles with teams of Brooke Garland and Sophie Trantham in the two-spot while Savannah Anderson and Hamrick Perry rounded out the doubles teams for the Tornados.

Brevard had little trouble in doubles action against its first opponent, the Catholic University of America (Washington D.C.), as the Tornados earned an 8-5 win in number-one doubles followed by 8-2 and 8-4 victories for the clean sweep.

BC followed suit by claiming five out of six singles matches as Garland, Hersh, Kogoy, Perry, and Trantham all collected singles victories en route to the 8-1 team triumph.

BREVARD 7, CLARION 2

The Tornados then matched up with NCAA DII opponent Clarion Univeristy, as Brevard cruised to a 7-2 team victory.

BC's Hersh and Kogoy were tested by Clarion's Davan Lion and Alexis Strouse in number-one doubles, as the match was forced to a tie-breaking set. However, the Tornados came out on top in the match 8-7 thanks to a 7-3 tie-breaking win. Garland and Trantham swept their competition 8-0 in number-two doubles while Anderson and Perry cruised to an 8-4 win as Brevard swept doubles action for the second consecutive day.

The Tornados then matched up with Penn. State University at Behrend on Thursday, locking in a 7-2 win and the team's third of the trip in three tries.

Brevard's Hersh and Kogoy fell in doubles play for the first time on the trip with an 8-2 setback to PSU-Behrend's number-one duo, but the other two doubles pairings for Brevard earned 8-4 and 8-1 victories respectively as the Tornados held a 2-1 team lead heading into singles play.

Hersh, Garland, Perry, Trantham, and Melody Ferguson all earned singles wins to catapult the Tornados to their fourth victory in a row and third of the Spring Break trip.

BREVARD 6, CORNELL 3

BC was able to set the tone in doubles play, as Hersh and Kogoy were pushed to the brink with a tiebreaker but came out on top 7-4 in the deciding set to earn a critical 8-7 victory over Cornell's Makayla Johnson and Wies Kleingeld in top-flight doubles. Garland and Trantham had no problem in their number-two doubles match, sweeping 8-0 as the Tornados took a 2-1 team lead into singles play after the duo of Anderson and Perry fell in a heartbreaker 8-7.
