Tornados Fall to Scots 6-3 in Fall Team Opener

LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - The Brevard College women's tennis team (0-1) fell to a familiar foe in its team opener for the 2022-23 season, dropping a 6-3 decision to former USA South adversary Covenant College (2-0) on Wednesday in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. 

The Tornados took one doubles match and a pair of singles matches in the contest. 

In number-one doubles, Alli Kogoy and Hannah Hersh defeated Covenant's Lauren Carr and Nicole Restrepo, 8-1. BC's Brooke Garland and Sophie Trantham narrowly fell in the number-two doubles spit, 8-5, while Hamrick Perry and Melody Ferguson were dropped 8-0 in the third doubles match. 

Hersh won the number-one singles match vs. Gillian Bosko in thrilling 7-5, 7-5 fashion, while Trantham used a 10-6 win in the tiebreaking third set to win number-five singles. The Scots took home victories in number two, three, four, and six singles to claim the 6-3 team win. 

The Tornados close out its Fall schedule with a 3 p.m. first serve time on Friday in Greensboro, North Carolina vs. Guilford College.
