Women’s Tennis Drops Non-Conference Match vs. Piedmont

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College women's tennis team (1-4) dropped a non-conference match 9-0 to Piedmont College (8-4) on Saturday morning at the McCoy Tennis Complex.  The match was the second of two consecutive contests between the programs, with Saturday's competition not counting toward league records.

Piedmont pulled away early with a 3-0 advantage after doubles play.  Brevard's number three doubles team was on the court the longest as Hamrick Perry and Alli Kogoy won four games in an 8-4 defeat to the Lions' tandem of Kara Landsiedel and Abby Grace Venham.

Piedmont swept singles play as well en route to the 9-0 victory.  Kogoy (no. 1 singles), Perry (no. 2 singles) and Margaret Correll (no. 3 singles) of the Tornados each won multiple games in their individual matches.

The Brevard women's tennis team returns to action next weekend with a trip to LaGrange, Georgia to take on USA South Conference foe LaGrange College on Saturday and Sunday.
