MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Brevard College women's tennis team (1-1, 1-1 USAS) fell to host Huntingdon College, 7-2 on Saturday afternoon in a USA South Conference matchup in Montgomery, Alabama.

BC's two wins in the dual match both came on the singles side of the ledger. Brevard's Sarah Iocovozzi won number six singles over Alonda Weaver to earn Tornados their first win of the event. A sophomore from Savannah, Georgia, Iocovozzi won in straight sets 6-3, 6-4.

Brevard's Hamrick Perry won number four singles in what proved to be the longest individual women's match of the afternoon.  Facing off against HC's Kennedy Harp, Perry won the first set 6-4 before dropping set number two 7-5. Perry and Harp then battled in the third set, before the Tornado from Hendersonville, North Carolina pulled away 10-7.

The Hawks jumped ahead early by winning all three doubles matches. Number three doubles was the tightest affair of the doubles session with BC's team of Alli Kogoy and Brooke Garland falling 8-3.

The two teams will square off again on Sunday for the second match in as many days.  First serve is set for 11 a.m. ET on the campus of Huntingdon College.
