Sepe Claims Singles & Doubles Victories in First Match in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. - Senior Samantha Sepe earned victories in number-one singles and doubles to highlight Brevard's opening match at the Spring Break Sports Tournament in Orlando, Florida.

The Tornados (3-4) fell to Transylvania University, 7-2, in their first match of an action-packed week at an ITA-sanctioned tournament.

In doubles action, the pairing of Sepe and newcomer Lily Farr claimed an 8-5 triumph over Porsche Robinson and Jessica Burton. The number-two doubles matchup featuring Jen Cox and Margaret Correll dropped an 8-3 decision, while Hamrick Perry and Alli Kogoy fell, 8-2, as Transylvania held a 2-1 match advantage. 

Sepe claimed a 6-3, 7-6 triumph in number-one singles, highlighting singles action for the Tornados. Transylvania clinched the match by dominating no. 2-5 singles play, but Sarah Iocovozzi fought hard in the number-six slot, falling narrowly, 7-5, 6-3.

BC's women's team will play alongside the men's team at 6:30 p.m. tomorrow against Curry College, continuing its stay in spring break action. Updates will be provided at @BCTornados and @Brevard_Tennis on Twitter when available.
