Rojas and Royster Earn Conference Weekly Honors

OFFICIAL USA SOUTH RELEASE

BREVARD, N.C. – Senior goalkeeper Rebeccah Rojas and sophomore forward Ashley Royster have been selected as USA South Conference Athletes of the Week following their individual performances against Huntingdon in Brevard's thrilling 1-0 conference victory over Huntingdon on Sunday, in a victory that booked Brevard's trip to the Spring 2021 USA South Women's Soccer West Division Tournament.

Royster was named the conference's Player of the Week, while Rojas garnered Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Royster, a sophomore forward from Mooresville, North Carolina, scored the game-winning goal in the 56th minute that sent the Tornados to the postseason, receiving a ball played in by Tae Brown that found the left side of the net past the Hawk goalkeeper for her first goal of the season.

Rojas, a senior goalkeeper from Murrieta, California, registered the fourth shutout of her senior season, stopping all six shots that she faced on-target to anchor BC's impressive shutdown effort against the Hawks. The honor marks the fifth time that Rojas has earned a Defensive Player of the Week selection from the USA South in her Tornado career.

Rojas and Royster's awards give BC women's soccer four weekly honorees through the Spring 2021 season.
