MACON, Ga. - The Brevard College women's soccer team (4-1, 4-1 USAS) won its third consecutive match with a 4-0 shutout victory over Wesleyan (1-5, 1-3 USAS) on Saturday at Panoz Field in Macon, Georgia.

The Tornados extended their winning streak which began on February 21 with a 3-1 win over over Berea and continued with a 4-0 victory at Agnes Scott last week.  Saturday's win over Wesleyan marked the second straight shutout for Brevard College and the Tornado defense.  Over the streak, the Tornados have outscored their opponents 11-1 in goal differential.

Abbie Petrosky opened the scoring for Brevard in the 33rd minute with an unassisted goal as the junior midfielder blasted a shot from outside the penalty box that landed within the inside roof of the net.  Peteosky now leads the team with eight total points on two goals and four assists this season.

Despite outshooting the Wolves 10-2 in the first half, Petrosky's goal proved to be the only score in the opening stanza, as BC took a 1-0 lead into halftime.

Freshman Grace Black then scored her first collegiate goal in the 53rd minute. After handling a well-played assist by Riggan, Black fired off a shot that found the bottom left corner of the net.

Up 2-0, Brevard added to its lead on a penalty kick goal by senior Sallie Riggan in the 61st minute.

Freshman Tae Brown then added to the second-half scoring parade with a goal off an assist by Alyssa Hetherington in the 79th minute.  Brown took the pass from Hetherington, then beat the Wesleyan goalkeeper on a one-on-one opportunity.

Senior goalkeeper Rebeccah Rojas registered four saves en route to her third shutout and fourth win of the season. Meanwhile, the BC defense - featuring starters Emma White, Abbie Worsencroft, Lena Hatter and Autumn Wright - held Wesleyan to just six total shots in the contest en route to the shutout.

Brevard returns to action on Sunday, March 14, hosting USA South foe Huntingdon College at 2 p.m. ET at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
