Greensboro Speeds Past Brevard in Regular Season Home Finale

BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College women's basketball team (14-9, 11-6 USA South) fell 92-62 to visiting Greensboro College (22-2, 17-0 USAS) 92-62 on Wednesday evening at the Boshamer Gymnasium. 

The result kept the Pride undefeated at 17-0 in conference play while Brevard maintained its four-seed in the USAS standings with one game left to play in the regular season. 

Jada Wilkins came off the bench to score a career-high 15 points with five rebounds and three 3-pointers made, while Makenna Parkins notched a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds, while also distributing a team-best six assists. Naliyah Boyce and Makayla Street each added seven points apiece off the bench for Brevard. 

Greensboro's Audrey Jennings exploded for 32 points on 9-of-15 shooting with a remarkable 13-for-15 mark at the free throw line. Lauren Livingstone totaled 18 points and 12 assists, while Quadijah Moore also logged a double-double with 12 points and 12 boards. Aijah Palmore also hauled down double-digit rebounds with 11. 

Greensboro was dominant from the onset of the contest, shooting 48% from the field and making 21 free throws while outrebounding Brevard 47-35. The Pride controlled the painted area with 50 points in the paint, but BC's bench outscored Greensboro's 35-9. 

GC led wire-to-wire in the game, opening up a 24-12 lead after one period. The Pride took an 18-point lead into the locker rooms after outscoring Brevard 27-21 in the second stanza for a 51-33 halftime lead.

Greensboro used a 26-15 third-quarter performance to wrap the contest up, as the Pride cruised to the 30-point win.

The Tornados travel to Winston-Salem, North Carolina to take on Salem College on Saturday at 2 p.m. before Brevard hosts the first round of the 2023 USA South Conference Women's Basketball Tournament next Tuesday, February 21 at the Boshamer Gymnasium.
