BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College Tornados Women's Basketball team heads to Raleigh, N.C. for a non-divisional meeting against the William Peace Pacers on Monday evening. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Brevard comes into play with a 9-10 overall record, which includes a 5-8 mark in USA South West Division play. William Peace currently holds an 11-8 mark on the season, including an 8-4 record against USA South East Division schools.

The Tornados look to build upon a dominant performance last Saturday against Agnes Scott, as BC prevailed by a final score of 73-49.

Sophomore guard Ty'She Washington enjoyed a fantastic all-around outing to lead the Tornados in last Saturday's home contest. Washington tallied a team-high 16 points on 6-of-8 shooting, hitting 3-of-4 from long-distance. The Charlotte, N.C. native added three assists, and a whopping total of six steals to Brevard's defensive effort. Washington's six steal performance marked a new career-high, surpassing her previous count of five steals recorded last season against William Peace.

Deja Riddick added 10 points for BC on a near-perfect 5-of-6 shooting in just 17 minutes of action as the Tornados cycled through their lineup.

Avery Lockwood and Destiny Williams led the Tornados' passing renaissance, each recording four assists. Lockwood grabbed a team-high six rebounds to bring her season total to 163.

Sophomore guard Shakirah Thompson provided a spark off the bench, draining 3-of-7 beyond the 3-point arc for nine points, while senior guard Annalee Bollinger tallied eight points on 3-of-6 shooting, including two 3-pointers.

The Pacers of William Peace are coming off a tough 56-50 loss at the hands of in-city rival Meredith College.

William Peace currently sits in third place in the USA South East Division, which would be enough to qualify for the USA South Postseason Tournament.

Brevard currently sits in sixth place in the USA South West Division, just a half game behind the Covenant Scots (7-13, 5-7 USAS). The Tornados are ineligible to qualify for the USA South Tournament due to NCAA DIII reclassification.

After the quick one-game road trip, the Tornados return home for back-to-back USA South matchups at the Boshamer Gymnasium. Brevard meets the Huntingdon Hawks (16-4, 9-3 USAS) for a rematch on Friday at 6 p.m., before facing Covenant on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Brevard will be looking for revenge against both schools after suffering defeats to both on the road this season. BC faced Huntingdon on December 9, 2018, falling by a final of 73-55. Brevard and Covenant met last week in Lookout Mountain, Ga., with the Scots prevailing in a close 67-61 contest.
