Brevard Takes on Western Carolina on New Year's Eve

BREVARD, N.C.- On the final day of 2017, the Brevard women's basketball team will travel to Cullowhee to take on Western Carolina at 2 p.m.

Brevard (4-4) is currently riding a two-game winning streak, and is coming off a 74-62 victory over St. Andrews on Thursday night. The Tornados were led by Annalee Bollinger (20 points), Deja Riddick (11), and Ty'She Washington (10).

Bollinger notched her third game of the season scoring 20 or more points, hitting 6-of-16 from the field including three 3-pointers, as well as leading the team with five assists against the Knights.

As a team the Tornados have been playing stout defense, as they have given up an average of 50.5 points in their four wins. Brevard has also been dominating the glass in their four wins, as the team has out-rebounded their competition by an average of 41-35 rebounds per game.

Western Carolina (2-11) comes into the game on a four-game losing streak, with their most recent win coming on Dec. 7th against Radford.

Sherae Bonner leads the Catamounts in scoring and rebounding so far this season, averaging 11 points and 9.2 rebounds per game during the 2017-18 campaign.
