Brevard Looks to Rebound Against Emory & Henry

BREVARD, N.C.- The Brevard women's basketball team will aim for their second win in three games as they travel to Emory, Va. to battle with Emory & Henry.

The Tornados (1-1) are looking to return to the win column after suffering a 77-50 setback at the hands of Berea on Saturday evening. Brevard had an even split in the first week of action after posting a 71-52 victory over Berry (Nov. 15) in the season opener last Tuesday evening.

Brevard looks to take advantage of a solid defensive outing against the Emory & Henry offense, as the Wasps (1-1) have only scored 56 points per game and have shot just 39.8 percent from the field in their first two contests.

Junior guard Annalee Bollinger leads Brevard in points per game (19.5), and will look to continue her scoring success against an Emory & Henry defense that allowed 68 points in their last outing, a loss to Texas-Dallas in the Emory Tip Off Tournament in Atlanta last Saturday.

Senior Whitney DeMoss leads the team with seven rebounds per game, and will look to duplicate her double-double (10 points, 11 rebounds) performance against Berry, which was an intregal part in the team's win.

Emory & Henry is led on offense by junior Tessa Johnston, who leads the team in points per game (14.5) and is tied for second in assists per game (two) on the roster. Three Wasps have averaged at least six rebounds per game in Peyton Williams and Kara Stafford, with Sydney McKinney leading the team with 6.5 rebonds per game.

This will be the first meeting between the two schools since Brevard moved to the NCAA ranks in 2008, and tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
