MACON, Ga. - The Brevard College softball team (3-5, 2-0 USAS) dropped both games of a non-conference doubleheader on Sunday at host Wesleyan (5-13, 1-3 USAS) in Macon, Georgia.

The Tornados fell 10-1 in game one, before a 7-5 defeat in Sunday's second game.  The two teams played a USA South Conference twin bill on Sunday, with BC winning both games that counted toward league records.

GAME ONE - WESLEYAN 10, BREVARD 1 (6 Innings)

Wesleyan, playing at home and looking to bounce back from Saturday's defeats, jumped out to a 7-0 lead with four runs in the second and three in the third.

The Tornados were held hitless with their only run coming in the fifth inning as first baseman Autumn Lollis reached base on an error.  Lollis then advanced to third with some opportunistic base running on an error by the Wolves' catcher.  Leadoff hitter Taylor Hannah then put the ball in play to spur another Wesleyan error that scored Lollis.

The Wolves then scored three runs in the sixth to take the 10-1 victory.

BC pitchers Ali Grace Hartman, Savannah Jones, and Kaitlynn Farmer all saw action in the circle during the contest.

GAME TWO - WESLEYAN 7, BREVARD 5

In a back-and-forth battle, host Wesleyan was able to outscore Brevard in the game's late innings to take the 7-5 win in game number two.

Hartman helped lead the Brevard offensive attack, going 2-for-2 with a double, a triple, two runs scored, two RBI's, and two walks.  Third baseman Emily White went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBI's, while left fielder Brittany Franks collected a hit. Hannah and Beth Hyatt also each scored a run.

Micayla McCoy started at pitcher for the Tornados and pitched a complete six innings with four strikeouts.

Wesleyan opened the scoring with one run in the bottom of the first, before BC took its first lead of the Sunday doubleheader with two runs in the top of the third.

Hartman led off the third with a walk which brought White to the plate. The senior from Shelby, North Carolina promptly hit her team-leading second home run of the season to catapult the Tornados into the lead, 2-1. The homer was the fifth of White's collegiate career.

After a run by the Wolves tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the third, BC retook the lead with a three-run fourth inning.

Hartman blasted a two-RBI triple to score Hannah and Hyatt.  White then drove Hartman home again with an RBI-single to cap a three-RBI performance.

Wesleyan's offense answered once again with two runs in the fifth and three runs in the sixth. The Tornados, meanwhile, were unable to score in their final two frames at the plate as the home team clinched the second game of the doubleheader.

Next up for the Brevard College softball team is a USA South Conference home doubleheader on Saturday, March 27 vs. Huntingdon College. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m. at the BC Softball Field.
