BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College softball team (0-2) will hold its home opener on Saturday when the Tornados host Carolina University (2-4) for a doubleheader at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m at the BC Softball Field.  The games will mark the return to play for the Tornados on the BC Softball Field for the first time since April 23rd, 2016, the exclusive home of the BC softball team located on the Brevard College campus.

BC will be looking to rebound off two defeats at Pfeiffer University in the season-opening series on February 20.

Micayla McCoy (0-1) led the Tornados offensively in game one, driving in Brevard's lone run on an RBI-double that scored Emily White. McCoy finished the first contest 2-for-3 at the plate while also starting in the circle for the Tornados, logging a pair of strikeouts in six innings pitched.

White dominated the headlines in game two of the afternoon, as she sent the fourth home run of her Tornado career out of Jack Ingram Field. Brittany Franks and Jocelyn Folkers also logged hits in the contest, while Kaitlynn Farmer (0-1) got the starting nod in the circle for BC.

Carolina University comes into play on Saturday after splitting games with Alice Lloyd College (KY.) last Saturday.
