BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College softball program, under first-year Head Coach Bre Shearin, has set its schedule for the upcoming 2021 Spring season of competition.

BC's softball schedule features a total of 28 contests, with 10 home contests at the Brevard College Softball Field and 14 matchups in-conference, played against USA South West Division opponents.

"Everyone on the team is extremely excited and anxious to start this season," commented Coach Shearin on the upcoming 2021 Spring schedule. "We have some jitters to work out but luckily I was able to load us up with really competitive opponents before we hit conference play. Due to the pandemic, everything this year is at a faster pace and we have a shorter time to prepare, so we are getting into the thick of it right out the gate. The team is more than ready - our energy, focus, and team chemistry are right where we need it to be before playing the season-opener at Pfeiffer on Saturday. The team is locked in and ready to get started!"

The Tornados open up the 2021 regular season on Saturday, February 20 with a non-conference doubleheader against Pfeiffer University at 1 and 3 p.m. Brevard will then travel to Emory, Virginia for a pair of non-conference contests, with the first being against Dubuque University in a neutral-site contest at 11 a.m. before playing host Emory & Henry at 1 p.m.

For the first time since the 2015-16 season, the Tornados will be playing their entire home schedule on the BC Softball Field, where Brevard will open its home schedule on Saturday, March 6 at 12 and 2 p.m. vs. Carolina University. BC then opens its conference schedule up on Saturday, March 13 when the Tornados play host to Covenant College at 1 and 3 p.m.

BC's first road conference doubleheader is scheduled for Saturday, March 20 at 1 and 3 p.m. in Macon, Georgia against Wesleyan College. The Wolves and Tornados will then face off in a non-conference doubleheader the following day (Sunday, March 21) at 1 and 3 p.m. The Tornados return for a conference matchup at home, hosting Huntingdon College on Saturday, March 27 at 12 and 2 p.m. just prior to a non-conference doubleheader on Sunday, March 28 at 12 and 2 p.m.

The Tornados will hit the road for a six-game road swing, beginning on Friday, April 2 with conference contests against Piedmont College in Demorest, Georgia at 1 and 3 p.m. before a non-conference doubleheader at Saturday, April 3 at 1 and 3 p.m. BC then travels to Decatur, Georgia for a conference doubleheader against Agnes Scott College on Saturday, April 10 at 1 and 3 p.m.

Brevard hosts its final home conference doubleheader on Saturday, April 17 against LaGrange College, with time still to-be-determined. The Tornados conclude their season with a weekend series against Maryville College. BC faces the Scots in a conference twin billing on Saturday, April 24 at 12 and 2 p.m., with a non-conference set being played on Sunday, April 25 at 12 and 2 p.m.

Live video and statistics of all home contests will be made available on https://www.youtube.com/BrevardCollegeTornados and bctornados.com throughout the duration of the season.

As a safety measure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, only Brevard College students, faculty and staff, as well as essential game personnel, will be permitted at outdoor sporting events during the Spring 2021 semester.  No outside spectators will be permitted for any athletics event. The policy is in accordance with the USA South Conference's policy announced on February 5, 2021.
