Brevard Shut Out by St. Francis in Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Brevard College men's tennis team (3-6) concluded its competition in the Spring Break Sports Tournament by falling 9-0 to The University of St. Francis (Indiana) on Thursday afternoon at the Lake Cane Tennis Complex in Orlando, Florida.

The Tornados battled, falling in a tight number-one doubles match, 8-6, while number-one singles player Ethan McGee fell 6-7, 3-6 in a toughly-played singles match in which McGee forced a tiebreaker in the first set.

Jackson Ray competed in the two-slot for the Tornados, dropping a close 4-6 first set before bowing out in the match's second set.

Troy Broska fell by a 4-6, 3-6 score, managing to score seven total points, while Andrew Ingram took five points in his 3-6, 2-6 defeat in the number-four spot.

St. Francis was able to control the match from its onset, using a 3-0 sweep through doubles play that included dominant performances in the numbers two and three spot to hold the early match lead. Despite close competition from the Tornados in the first four flights of singles action, St. Francis was able to hold BC off and wrap up the sweep, 9-0.
