BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College men's soccer team (5-2) fell in overtime, 2-1, to visiting Greensboro College (5-2) in a non-conference affair on Sunday afternoon at Ives-Lemel Family Field.

The Tornados led the match for a span of 67 minutes, but Greensboro scored in the 90th minute and then just 43 seconds into overtime to take the win.

Senior Adam Spencer scored in the 22nd minute for a career-best fourth time this season to establish a 1-0 lead for Brevard in the opening half.  Spencer found the back of the net after a brilliant offensive sequence with Sam O'Callaghan and Francesco Bonometti setting up the veteran striker.

The majority of the match was played in the midfield with neither side creating many quality chances.  Each team just delivered two shots-on-goal throughout the match.  The Brevard defense of O'Callaghan, Inigo Satrustegui, Trystan Wallace, Marquis Dickerson, and Igor da Silva stifled the Pride attack, allowing just four total shots and only two corner kicks in the contest.

A shutout streak for the Tornados of 264 minutes, dating back to a goal allowed in a win at Maryville on March 10, was snapped in the final minute of regulation to tie the match at 1-1. GC's William Curry scored off an assist by Darli Mihindou for the equalizer.

The late goal forced the first overtime match for the Tornados in 2021.  Greensboro promptly found the back of the net with a golden goal by Jovan Cotton in the 91st minute.

Brevard returns to action with the regular season USA South Conference finale on Saturday, March 27 at Huntingdon in Montgomery, Alabama.
