Tornados Host Warriors Sunday for Season Opener

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard College Tornados Men's Soccer team limbers up for its long-awaited season-opening contest, hosting Southern Wesleyan University in its home-opener at Ives-Lemel Family Field on Sunday, with kick-off slated for 2 p.m.

BC men's soccer is led by Head Coach Helio "L" D'Anna (second year) and Associate Head Coach Juan Mascaro Jr. (third season). The Tornados welcome a robust class of new talent, with 16 newcomers alongside 18 returning student-athletes.

Southern Wesleyan comes into play on Sunday also kicking off their season at Ives-Lemel Family Field. The NCAA Division II institution competes in the Conference Carolinas.

The Tornados are slated to kick off their USA South Conference schedule next weekend as Brevard plays host to Piedmont College in a conference matchup at the Ives-Lemel Family Field. The Tornados and Lions face off on Sunday, February 14 at 2 p.m.

As a safety measure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, only Brevard College students, faculty and staff, as well as essential game personnel, will be permitted at outdoor sporting events during the Spring 2021 semester.  No outside spectators will be permitted for any athletics event on the Brevard College campus.  For those attending the match from the on-campus community, masks and social distancing are required as well as Brevard College identification. The policy is in accordance with the USA South Conference's policy announced on February 5, 2021.

Live video broadcasts of all home athletics events will be available via livestream, free of charge, on the Brevard College Athletics YouTube channel.
