Monarchs Run Past Tornados in Fayetteville 

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Brevard College men's lacrosse team (2-12, 0-7 USA South) fell 26-3 to Methodist University (5-8, 3-3 USAS) on Saturday afternoon in Fayetteville, North Carolina. 

Atticus Cooper scored two goals to lead all Tornado goal scorers, while Gage Khayat also found the back of the net. Will Scoggins dished out an assist while Jack Hicks logged his second-straight game with 20-plus saves, stopping 20 shots and grabbing seven ground balls. Nick Charania added five ground balls defensively. 

The Monarchs were led on the offensive end by Hunter Vaughan, who turned in an impressive six-goal, four-assist performance for 10 points scored. Jesse Leyble added four goals and an assist as three Monarchs scored multiple goals and nine different Methodist players found the back of the net. 

Methodist held a dominant 73-21 shooting advantage against the short-handed Tornados, grabbing 66 ground balls to BC's 36 while also forcing Brevard into 39 total turnovers. The Monarchs went 21-for-33 on faceoffs in the victory. 

Brevard returns home for Senior Day at Ives-Lemel Family Field on Saturday, April 22, with ball drop slated for 12 p.m.
