MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Brevard College men's lacrosse team (1-10, 0-6 USA South) dropped a 24-7 decision to Pfeiffer University (9-2, 5-1 USAS) on Wednesday afternoon in Misenheimer, North Carolina.
Trystan Wallace scored three goals and added two assists for a team-high five points, while Evan Francois added a season-best two goals. Atticus Cooper and Nate Ellen also posted goals, while Jacob Gravely hauled in five ground balls.
Pfeiffer's Quinn Becraft totaled a game-best nine goals, while Tyler Ajemian added four goals. The Falcons outshot Brevard 62-24, with a 37-22 advantage in the ground ball department. Pfeiffer's largest advantage was in faceoffs, where the Falcons won 28-of-35.
The Falcons opened up the game with three straight goals before Wallace got the Tornados on the board at the 8:22 mark. Pfeiffer answered back with four goals in a row to hold a 7-1 lead heading into the second quarter.
Pfeiffer scored seven consecutive goals to begin the second quarter, as the Falcons outscored Brevard 8-1 in the second period to hold a commanding 15-2 lead at the intermission.
The Falcons went on to outscore Brevard 6-2 in the third quarter before the Tornados scored three goals in the fourth period, but Pfeiffer held on for the 24-7 triumph.
Brevard returns home to face Averett University on Saturday at 12 p.m. at Ives-Lemel Family Field.
