BREVARD, N.C. – Senior Daniel Ramos and junior Sam Duffie have been named captains for the 2020 Brevard College Men's Lacrosse team, announced Head Coach Jim Fritz.

"I am excited about the leadership to our program both bring," said Fritz. "Daniel was a great captain for us last year and Sam showed outstanding leadership last season as a sophomore. I think both will do a great job for us and continue to build on the culture we have established."

Ramos, a defender hailing from Sebastian, Florida, was a USA South All-Conference Second-Team performer in 2019 as a junior.  He registered a total of 50 ground balls to go along with 20 caused turnovers, both totals that were second on the team defensively last season.  He also added two goals and two assists last year with goals at William Peace and home vs. Greensboro. For his career, Ramos has recorded 104 ground balls and 51 caused turnovers in his three seasons with the Tornados. An outstanding student, Ramos was also a USA South All-Academic Team selection in 2019. 

Duffie, a midfielder from Columbia, South Carolina, was also a USA South All-Conference Second-Team selection.  In 2019, he tallied 19 goals and 12 assists to go along with 20 ground balls in 11 games played.  He registered a three-goal, three-assist performance in a road win at Methodist, the first of three straight games where he scored three goals in each contest.  Later in 2019, he matched a career-high with four goals in an 18-5 win over Averett.  In his first two seasons with the Tornados, Duffie has racked up 39 goals and 34 assists for a total of 73 points.
