Three-Game Winning Streak On The Line Against William Peace

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard men's lacrosse team puts its three-game winning streak on the line Saturday at Ives-Lemel Field when it hosts William Peace at 1:30 p.m.

Brevard, which is 6-2 on the season, is also looking to maintain its perfect record at home in 2018. The Tornados improved their home record to 5-0 when they completed an 8-5 victory over Piedmont on Tuesday evening. The combination of three goals by Jackson McKaig and four saves in net by Xzavier Holmes-Copeland proved to be the difference in the three-goal win over the Lions.

McKaig leads all Brevard scorers with 31 goals, followed closely by Kyle Hunziker who is responsible for 22. Teammates Hewitt Farr and Sam Duffie also have double figure goals on the season, scoring 13 and 10, respectively.

Holmes-Copeland anchors the Tornados in net with a team-high 77 saves (.535 save percentage), responsible for all six wins on the season. Robert Kokal tops all field players with 97 ground balls while David Buono has snagged 31.

William Peace (3-5) is coming off a 12-5 victory over Wilimington College on Wednesday. The Pacers are 2-2 in March, adding a win over Wabash College, but suffered setbacks to Bridgewater (March 3) and Huntingdon (March 10).

Austin Abourjilie tops the Pacer lineup with 19 goals, while Anthony Florian has contributed 16 as the pair is tied with 24 points on the season. Nick Falso, with 12 goals to his credit, is the remaining player with double-figure goals on the season.
