Methodist Awaits Tornados Saturday

BREVARD, N.C. – The Brevard men's lacrosse team looks keep its perfect home record intact on Saturday when it hosts Methodist at 2 p.m. on Ives-Lemel Field.

Brevard (3-2) has home victories this season over Montreat, Emmanuel and most recently Randolph, outscoring its opponents 45-15 in the process.

Jackson McKaig leads all Brevard scorers with 23 goals, while teammate Kyle Hunziker is second with 16. Among other top offensive contributors this season are Hewitt Farr (eight goals), Sam Duffie (seven) and Jack Shade (four).

Hunziker has also been active with 12 assists, while McKaig is responsible for 11 on the campaign. Xzavier Holmes-Copeland leads the way with 39 saves (.459 save percentage), winning three games along the way.

Methodist (0-3) is search of its first win of the season after falling to Marymount (Feb. 17), Piedmont (Feb. 24) and most recently Guilford. The Monarchs have held their opponents under double figures in every contest, Piedmont netting a season-high nine, but have combined for only 17 goals (5.7 gpg) in that span.

Matt Laden leads the Monarch lineup with six goals while AJ Mejia and Cade Crews have contributed three each. Clay Stevenson, who has started all three matches in goal for Methodist, has made 29 saves (56.9 save percentage) in 165 minutes of action.
