MEADOWVIEW, Va. - The Brevard College men's basketball team (0-6) dropped a non-conference affair 70-57 to Emory & Henry (5-2) on Friday evening at the King Center in Meadowview, Virginia.

Brevard sophomore guard LB Boyette scored 12 points to register his fourth double-digit output in six games this season.  Junior guard Chancey Watson recorded 12 points for his third double-digit scoring performance in a Tornado uniform. Watson also grabbed two steals and dished out three assists.

Forward Alex Wesig led the Tornados on the glass with five rebounds, including two on the offensive end to go along with three assists.

Emory & Henry was paced by forward Gabe Brown who made seven 3-pointers en route to 29 points to go along with a game-high nine rebounds.  Guard Jalen Leftwich also scored in double figures with 11 points for the Wasps.

BC hit back-to-back 3-pointers at the start of the game to take a 6-2 lead as Boyette and sophomore Carson Evans both drilled shots from beyond the arc.  The Wasps though responded with a 9-0 run over the next four minutes to take the lead.

A layup by Wesig cut the deficit to 15-10 at the 8:57 mark but EHC responded again with an 11-2 run to pull ahead by double digits.

Freshman Garrett Sutherland scored four straight points late in the first half to bring BC within six points, however, a 3-pointer and a free throw by Brown extended the lead to ten going into the break.

Brevard would play the Wasps tighter in the second half with EHC holding a 33-30 scoring advantage, however, the deficit proved too large to overcome

EHC out-shot BC by a slim margin, 41% to 39% from the field.  The Wasps made 11 3-pointers compared to just five for the Tornados which proved the difference.

EHC out-rebounded Brevard 42-34, however, the Tornados won the battle of points-in-the-paint 28-24.

Brevard returns to action with a road trip to Swannanoa, North Carolina to take on Warren Wilson at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7.  The Tornados will then host their USA South Conference opener on Saturday, December 11 vs. Berea at 2 p.m. at the Boshamer Gymnasium.
