BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College's men's basketball team (1-7) returns to action for the final time in the 2019 calendar year by traveling to Atlanta to compete in the Holiday Inn Express Classic, held December 29-30 by host Oglethorpe University.

Live video and statistical coverage of the Holiday Inn Express Classic will be available by clicking here

Brevard, along with three other teams - Berry College (8-2), Oglethorpe (5-5), and St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn (4-3) - will compete in the two-day tournament.

The Tornados open up play versus Berry on Sunday, December 29 at 6 p.m. before concluding action on Monday, December 30 at 4 p.m. against host Oglethorpe.

Sunday and Monday's contests mark the final non-conference games for Head Coach Lee Burgess' squad.

Brevard comes into action on Sunday following the opening of its conference portion of the schedule. The Tornados kicked off USA South Conference play with an eight-point victory, 76-68, over Berea College at the Boshamer Gymnasium on December 8, led by Cannon Lamb who poured in 21 points in the victory.

Back-to-back defeats occurred for the Tornados on the front side of an 11-day absence from game action for Christmas, as BC fell to Averett University and Greensboro College in consecutive days. Demari Hopper and Levi Lamb each scored 12 points against Averett, while Cannon Lamb's 15 points were a team-high vs. Greensboro - a game that featured four double-digit Tornado scorers.

Brevard's Levi Lamb has averaged 15.8 points-per-game over the course of his team's first eight countable games, a mark that ranks ninth out of all USA South men's basketball players. BC's Hopper currently ranks third in the conference with his defensive contributions, as the senior guard has tallied 2.3 steals-per-game thus far in 2019-20.

Following the Holiday Inn Express Classic, the Tornados will return to the Boshamer Gymnasium for back-to-back USA South matchups. First, Brevard takes on Methodist University on Saturday, January 4 for a 2 p.m. tip-off. The Tornados will then face N.C. Wesleyan College on Sunday, January 5 at The Bosh, with the game also featuring a 2 p.m. start.
