Anderson Earns National Honor After Leading Dominant Defensive Performance

BREVARD, N.C. – Senior defensive back Dante Anderson was named to D3football.com's Team of the Week following Brevard's 27-3 victory over Huntingdon in the first on-campus home game in the modern era.

Anderson, a safety from Hartwell, Georgia, recorded a career-high 13 tackles (five solo, eight assist) with a key interception, two pass breakups, and a tackle-for-loss in Brevard's dominant home victory over defending USA South Conference champion Huntingdon.

The senior captain currently leads Brevard's defense with 30 tackles – a team-best 16 of which being solo – 10 tackles-per-game, and three pass breakups.

Anderson's selection gives the Tornados nine total D3football.com national weekly honorees in the last four seasons.

Anderson and the rest of the Tornados are scheduled to enjoy a bye week before closing out conference play on Saturday, March 27 against Maryville College in Maryville, Tennessee, with kickoff scheduled for 2 p.m.
