BREVARD, N.C. - Following a come-from-behind victory, 19-10, over Averett University, freshman quarterback Eli Carr was selected as Football Offensive Rookie of the Week by the USA South Conference.
Carr, a native of nearby Asheville, North Carolina, turned in a highly-efficient performance on Saturday in Danville, completing 24-of-32 passing attempts for 212 yards and a touchdown to help lead the Tornados to victory on the road. All 19 of Brevard's points came in the second half on Saturday, with 13 coming in the fourth quarter of play.
Carr's award marks the first conference honor for Brevard College football of the 2021 Spring season, and second award overall as fellow Tornado Joc Pledger was selected to D3Football.com's Team of the Week last Friday.

The Tornados are scheduled to return to USA South West Division play on Saturday, March 13 when Brevard hosts its first modern-era football game on the physical campus of Brevard College, as BC welcomes Huntingdon College to Ives-Lemel Family Field for a 1 p.m. kickoff in a rematch of the season-opener on February 20.
