Brevard College Cycling and Wahoo Fitness Begin Partnership, Open Training Center

BREVARD, N.C. – The ten-time national champion Brevard College Cycling program and Wahoo Fitness, the leader in connected fitness devices, have entered a partnership that includes a newly redesigned training venue for BC cycling student-athletes.  The Wahoo Fitness Training Center is set to open this Fall and will offer the Tornados cycling team with state-of-the-art training equipment in a refurbished space located at the Boshamer Gymnasium on the campus of Brevard College.

"Coach Cypress Gorry (Assistant Cycling Coach at Brevard College) and I cannot wait to develop this new relationship with Wahoo Fitness," said Brevard College Head Cycling Coach Brad Perley. "Wahoo offers the best products in the industry for at-home training and on-bike computer technology with the added bonus that they are also based in the southeast. Without their support, the new training facility would not be possible.  This provides a whole new layer of support and opportunity for our student-athletes who are very excited to utilize this resource.   It's a partnership we look forward to developing further into the future."

"Wahoo is proud to partner with the Brevard College Cycling program," said J.P. Matzigkeit, Chief Financial Officer of Wahoo Fitness. "We feel privileged to support such a wonderful cycling program located in our backyard."

The Wahoo Fitness Training Center will feature a total of six Wahoo KICKR full smart trainers for the exclusive use of BC Cycling team members.  The Wahoo KICKR smart trainers provide a best-in-class indoor smart trainer design with carbon steel body for durability and stability.  The trainers deliver the most realistic ride feel and precise power with KICKR AXIS action feet and improved power accuracy of +/- 1%.  Bluetooth connected, the smart trainers will provide the Tornados with a multitude of immersive, indoor riding experiences.

The Wahoo Fitness Training Center will be the home of an indoor meeting space and bike storage location for the Tornados, conveniently located at the center of the Brevard College campus.  New artwork and memorabilia throughout the venue will showcase Brevard College's illustrious cycling history.  Two new flat-screen monitors, provided by team sponsor Dodd RV, are also included in the redesign.

In addition to the naming rights of the Wahoo Fitness Training Center, the partnership extends to other elements of the Brevard College Cycling program.  Wahoo Fitness will supply podium and event attire for the Tornados with the Wahoo logo being added to the official team jerseys in the Fall of 2021.  Wahoo Fitness will also provide BC Cycling and the sport of collegiate cycling in general with increased exposure through its media channels.  The Tornados and Wahoo will also partner in select promotional opportunities at Wahoo sponsored events.

Located in Atlanta, Wahoo has created a full ecosystem of sensors and devices for runners, cyclists and general fitness enthusiasts. Wahoo's award-winning line of products include the KICKR family of smart trainers and accessories, the ELEMNT family of bike computers and the TICKR family of heart rate monitors.
