The Tornados battled back after falling behind early in game one, cutting LaGrange's lead to six runs before eventually dropping the contest 17-8. The Panthers then used a big fourth-inning in game two to clinch the doubleheader sweep, 19-2, via run rule in the seventh inning.

GAME ONE - LAGRANGE 17, BREVARD 8

Outfielders Zach Allison and Logan Clark combined for a 6-for-10 effort at the plate, as both underclassmen went 3-for-5 to lead the Tornado offense. Clark scored three runs in addition to a pair of RBI's, while Allison collected a pair of runs scored and an RBI. Peter Fumero added a 2-for-4 day with a pair of RBI's as well.

Nathan Sanders (2-2) was the pitcher of record for the Tornados in the contest. Right-handed freshman Cameron Cook turned in the longest outing of his collegiate career in relief, going six innings allowing a pair of earned runs with three strikeouts on his ledger.

LaGrange put up a five-spot in the bottom of the first before eight runs came across to score in the bottom of the second, making the contest a 13-0 affair. BC chipped away in the top of the fourth with a pair of RBI groundouts. Allison and Clark each hit RBI singles in the top of the fifth, followed by a two-run error that cut the Panther lead to a 14-6 deficit.

Clark and Fumero each logged RBI singles in the top of the seventh, putting the Tornados back in striking distance, 14-8. However, LaGrange was able to cap off their victory with a three-run eighth inning that handed the hosts the win, 17-8.

GAME TWO - LAGRANGE 19, BREVARD 2 (7 INNINGS)

The Panthers reached double-digit scoring for the second consecutive contest, hanging 19 runs on the board in game number two.

Jason Jucker led all Tornado batters with a 3-for-3 day at the plate, logging a run scored. Allison scored BC's lone other score of the second game.

Trenten Anderson (2-4) was the pitcher of the record for the Tornados, going 3.2 innings of action.

BC opened up the scoring with a pair of its own runs in the top of the first, as Allison and Holden Lanier each collected RBI-singles as the Tornados established the early lead, 2-0.

After shutout innings in the first and second frame by the Tornado pitching staff and defense, LaGrange took the lead 3-2 in the third before exploding for a 12-run fourth inning on seven hits and an error.

The Panther offensive surge continued into the fifth and sixth innings, as LaGrange scored three in the fifth inning before a single run in the sixth gave itself a comfortable 19-2 advantage that it would not relinquish.

Brevard will next gear up for a USA South Conference doubleheader at home on Tuesday, April 27 at 12 and 2:30 p.m.
