Nados Open Conference Schedule with Rematch vs. Maryville

BREVARD, N.C. - The Brevard College baseball team (6-8) is prepared to open up its USA South Conference schedule with a three-game series on the road against Maryville College (4-9) in Maryville, Tennessee.

Game one is slated for Friday at 1 p.m., with a doubleheader of action scheduled for Saturday at 12 and 3:30 p.m.

The contests serve as a rematch of BC's season-opening non-conference DH vs the Scots back on February 21.

The Presidents of the USA South Athletic Conference have agreed to adjust the Conference's policy on spectators attending any outdoor sporting event hosted by a USA South institution regardless of opponent.

The amended policy limits spectators to two per participating student-athlete, plus students, faculty and staff of the host institution while abiding with all local and state social distancing and capacity directives. No spectators of visiting teams will be permitted to attend. This adjusted policy went into effect for all events beginning on Friday, February 26th.

BC comes into play this weekend on a six-game slide that was prededed by a six-game win streak, Brevard's longest such streak since 2012.

Sophomore outfielder Zach Allison maintains the team-high .367 batting average alongside 11 runs and 11 RBI's on 18 hits. Freshman outfielder Logan Clark has eclipsed the .300 mark, holding a .313 average with a team-high four extra-base hits.

Maryville enters play on the heels of a home doubleheader split against Emory University. The Scots fell in game one, 9-2, before prevailing in the second matchup, 3-2.

BC will break from its conference schedule next Tuesday, April 6, as the Tornados visit Bob Jones University at Fluor Field - the home of the Greenville Drive - in Greenville, South Carolina for a 6 p.m. first pitch.
