Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday starting April 1 throughout the Spring of 2020, bctornados.com will be featuring senior student-athletes from Spring sports to honor their dedication and commitment to Brevard College Athletics through their Tornado careers.
BREVARD, N.C. – Senior catcher Trystan Jones, a four-year member of the Brevard College Baseball team, is the next honoree in BC Athletics' Spring Senior Profile series, highlighting and honoring 2020 seniors in Spring sports who had their respective seasons cut short due to the impact of COVID-19.
Jones, a native of Mars Hill, North Carolina, will graduate from Brevard College with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Following graduation, Jones plans to venture back to his hometown and serve in the Mars Hill Police Department. Alongside his duties as a captain of the BC baseball team, Jones was a member of the Criminal Justice Honors Society.
Jones proved to be an exceptional leader on and off the field for the Tornados throughout his baseball career at Brevard College. Making 19 career appearances for BC, Jones logged his first-career base hit on February 25, 2019, at Piedmont College. The senior captain logged six appearances over the course of his shortened senior campaign.
"My favorite memory at Brevard College would have to be the paintball trip that we took in Criminal Justice class," commented Jones.
"I would love to have a team full of guys with the character and determination like Trystan has," explained Head Baseball Coach Mike Victory. "Nobody works harder than him or is a better teammate than him. He will leave a noticeable hole in our program with his graduation."
