BREVARD, N.C. – Senior infielder Ryan Roon, a four-year member of the baseball team at Brevard College, is the next honoree in BC Athletics' Spring Senior Profile series, highlighting and honoring 2020 seniors in Spring sports who had their respective seasons cut short due to the impact of COVID-19.

Roon, a native of Dallas, Georgia and an alumnus of North Paulding High School, will graduate this year with a Bachelor's degree in Business & Organizational Leadership with a minor in Criminal Justice. Following graduating from Brevard College, Roon plans to enter a career in either Business Management/Marketing or Law Enforcement.

On the field, Roon was an offensive leader for the Tornados over the entirety of his career at Brevard. Through his four years at BC, Roon has patrolled the infield at multiple positions, playing in a total of 112 contests for the Tornados. The right-handed slugger maintained a career .309 batting average, scoring 39 runs and driving in 50 RBI's with 110 total hits that included 15 extra-base knocks. Through his career, he boasted a 368 on-base percentage while maintaining a .360 slugging percentage.

During his sophomore season at Brevard, Roon notched career-best numbers with a .342 batting average, 14 runs, 23 RBI's, and seven doubles.

In his junior season, Roon tallied a career-high 47 hits while maintaining a .333 batting average and hitting a home run. The Dallas, Georgia native maintained a 13-game hitting streak while also logging 14 multi-hit performances during the season. His junior-year performance led to a spot on the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) All-State Second Team.

Off the field, Roon has made the Dean's List at Brevard College three times, while making the college's Honor Roll list three times as well.

"My favorite memory at Brevard College is the home run that I hit against Roger Williams in 2019," said Roon. His first career homer came against the Blue Jays of Roger Williams University on March 13, 2019, in a 7-6 victory for the Tornados.
