BREVARD, N.C. – The new Athletics Field House on the campus of Brevard College officially opened its doors with a ceremonial ribbon cutting on Friday, August 27.  The 10,375 square foot Field House will provide locker room, offices, storage and meeting space for six Brevard College sports as well as classrooms and a laboratory for the college's Exercise Science program.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony featured Brevard College President David C. Joyce, Lynne Joyce, Vice President for Finance & Operations/CFO and Head Women's Soccer Coach Juan Mascaro, Director of Athletics and Executive Director of Strategy & Operations Myranda Nash, Director of Facilities Burke Ulrey, Campus Minister Sharad Creasman and several members of the college's Board of Trustees.

"The addition of our new Field House is the latest example of the growth at Brevard College," said President David Joyce.  "This new, state-of-the-art facility will be a major benefit for our student-athletes while also providing valuable classroom and meeting space.  We are proud to offer this new resource to our exceptional student-athletes at Brevard College."

Student-athletes from each of the six sports that utilizes the new facility also participated in the ceremony that was attended by the BC community and broadcast live on the Brevard College Tornados YouTube channel.

The BC Football, Baseball, Women's Lacrosse, Softball, Men's Soccer and Women's Soccer teams will all have locker rooms in the new Field House which is conveniently located next to Ives-Lemel Family Field on the Brevard College campus.

In addition to the locker rooms, the Field House also houses a football equipment room, an athletic training room and a laundry facility.  Five offices for football coaches as well as offices for men's soccer, women's soccer and softball coaches are also part of the building's design. Additionally, there is ample space for team meetings and film sessions.
