Spectator Policy Announced for Brevard College Men’s and Women’s Basketball Home Games

BREVARD, N.C. – In an abundance of caution due to the COVID-19 pandemic, spectators will not be permitted to attend Brevard College men's and women's basketball home games this season at the Boshamer Gymnasium on the BC campus.  Members of participating teams, game officials, media, and other essential personnel relevant to event operations will be the only individuals permitted into the venue for 2020-21 Brevard College basketball games.

The policy is in accordance with the USA South Conference's policy announced on January 7, 2021. The official USA South Conference policy reads as follows:

The Presidents of the USA South Athletic Conference have unanimously agreed to a Conference policy stating that no spectators shall be permitted to attend any indoor USA South sporting event. This includes the sport of basketball which is scheduled to begin Conference play during the weekend of January 16th. The lack of spectators will allow institutional staff to focus solely on maintaining the health and safety of those participating in the event.

The 2020-21 Brevard College men's and women's basketball regular seasons begin this Sunday, January 10 with a home doubleheader at the Boshamer Gymnasium.  The Tornado men's team will host Greensboro College at 3 p.m. followed by a women's tilt vs. Pfeiffer University at 6 p.m.

Following this weekend's non-conference doubleheader, the BC men's team will open its USA South Conference schedule at home vs. Covenant College on Friday, January 15 at 7 p.m.  The Brevard women's team is scheduled to host its home conference opener vs. Piedmont College at the Boshamer Gymnasium on Friday, January 22 at 5 p.m.

Live video broadcasts of all home men's and women's basketball games will be available via livestream, free of charge, on the Brevard College Athletics YouTube channel.  For complete schedules and links to broadcasts for Brevard College men's and women's basketball, go to www.bctorados.com.  For further coverage of BC men's and women's basketball, including interviews with coaches and student-athletes, be sure to tune in to Tornado Talk every Monday night at 7 p.m. on the Brevard College Tornado Athletics Facebook page.
